Executive Mentorship

CANVAS provides Grantees with access to a results-oriented, respectful relationship with a vetted Executive Mentor, whose perspective, experience, and advice helps them to deepen their approach as leaders in the field.

Executive Mentorship expands the boundaries of what we consider Jewish education by acknowledging the unique and powerful role of our artists and artistic leaders. It also knows that Jewish education in general, and professional development in particular, is not “one size fits all.”

CANVAS Grantees and Executive Mentors work together confidentially on a range of topics, including:

  • How to set achievable goals for the year for the organization and staff
  • How to set benchmarks to measure success against goals
  • How to determine and manage proper staffing structures that help reach achievable goals
  • Leading/motivating a staff during difficult times
  • How to build a Board that will be joyfully involved in capacity-building
  • How to set capacity-building goals and craft achievable plans to meet them

In order to maintain a sense of trust, safety, and confidentiality between Executive Mentors and CANVAS Grantees, Executive Mentors will not disclose specific information shared by Grantees in intake, or during sessions with CANVAS. More information about the Executive Mentor Confidentiality Guidelines can be found here.
