Grant Description
The CANVAS Amplify Grant is open to all non-profit arts and cultural presenting organizations whose work reaches broad and diverse audiences.
Applicants may request between $25,000–$75,000 to support programs that:
-
- Expand the presentation and distribution of work by contemporary artists who explore Jewish identity, themes, rituals, traditions, history, culture, or experience in their artwork.
- Connect audiences with contemporary, diverse representations of Jewish creativity and experience.
And/or:
-
- Foster cross-cultural connection and dialogue, including amongst Jewish / non-Jewish or other culturally-specific communities.
The Amplify grant is designed to encourage creative, expansive ideas that bring contemporary Jewish artistry to new audiences and to unlikely places.

Amplify Grants are intended to expand the presentation of work by contemporary artists who explore Jewish themes in their work; to connect new audiences with diverse expressions of Jewish creativity; and to foster opportunities for cross-cultural connection and dialogue, especially with secular/non-Jewish communities.
The Review Committee will strongly consider secular arts organizations or Jewish organizations with strong secular arts partnerships that are not current Grantees.
The Amplify Grant will also allocate a percentage of total grant-making to current CANVAS Grantee Partners. Current Grantees may submit no more than one proposal for a project that does not overlap with their existing CANVAS grant.
A portion of Amplify Grants will be distributed through the Azrieli Amplify Project, a structured arrangement under direction and control between the Azrieli Foundation and CANVAS.
