CANVAS is delighted to announce $785,000 in new funding to Jewish Arts and Culture. Eight organizations, including three new additions to the CANVAS Grantee community, received support in the first of two rounds of grantmaking for 2026.
These awards will support organizations that represent excellence in two of CANVAS’s three strategic grantmaking areas: strengthening networks of creatives, and expanding media coverage of the sector.
CANVAS is proud to offer dedicated, ongoing support to three Network organizations who serve as mainstays of the Jewish Arts and Culture ecosystem. These institutions have made consistent, essential contributions to the Jewish Arts and Culture ecosystem for many years, and continue to serve as models for others. Grantees include Council of American Jewish Museums (CAJM), enhancing the value of Jewish museums to their communities; Jewish Book Council, the longest-running organization devoted to the support and celebration of Jewish literature; and Reboot, a network of Jewish creatives that supports innovative projects across varied media and artforms.
We are also proud to welcome Mosaic Visions as our newest Emerging Network Grantee. Based in Washington, D.C., Mosaic Visions creates a more tolerant, just society through the arts, education, and alliance-building that centers the voices of Jews of Color.
Our Media Grants support organizations expanding and strengthening coverage of contemporary Jewish creativity and spotlight noteworthy, original work by Jewish artists for Jewish and mainstream audiences. Renewed Media grants this round include support for 70 Faces Media and The Forward. New grants support coverage of Jewish contemporary artistry at Moment Magazine, and expand coverage of Canada’s thriving Jewish Arts and Culture sector at Canadian Jewish News.
All of this is made possible by the support of the CANVAS Collaborative Fund, a growing funding partnership dedicated to supporting and celebrating a 21st Jewish cultural Renaissance.

NETWORK GRANTS
Council of American Jewish Museums (CAJM) is an association of institutions and individuals committed to enriching American and Jewish culture and enhancing the value of Jewish museums to their communities. It offers programs, networking, and learning opportunities to the Jewish-museum field, and highlights issues pertaining to the presentation of Jewish culture.
Jewish Book Council, founded in 1943, is the longest-running organization devoted exclusively to the support and celebration of Jewish literature. For over seventy years, Jewish Book Council has brought people together for meaningful discussions about Jewish life, identity, and culture through a literary lens.
Reboot reimagines and reinforces Jewish thought and traditions, offering an inviting mix of discovery, experience and reflection. Through Reboot Studios, their media investment and development arm, Reboot funds and produces projects in television, film, theater, podcasts, music, publishing and beyond.
EMERGING NETWORK GRANT
Mosaic Visions creates a more tolerant, just society through the arts, education, and alliance-building. Mosaic Visions promotes equity and cultural change for historically marginalized communities of color, centering the voices of Jews of Color. Along with year-long programming, a staple of Mosaic Visions is a virtual, international arts festival, the Spirit of Humanity (Ein Sof) Festival.EMERGING NETWORK GRANT

70 Faces Media is the largest and most diverse Jewish media organization in North America, that aspires to connect as many people as possible to all sides of the unfolding Jewish story. Their brands include Kveller, JTA, My Jewish Learning, HeyAlma, The Nosher, and NY Jewish Week.
The Canadian Jewish News (The CJN) is Canada’s leading independent Jewish media organization, dedicated to delivering high-quality journalism that informs, reflects, and connects Jewish communities across the country. With a legacy rooted in trusted reporting and community engagement, The CJN has served as a vital platform for news, ideas, and cultural expression since 1960.
The Forward is the most significant Jewish voice in American journalism, reporting on cultural, social and political issues that inspires readers of all ages and animates conversation across generations and different segments of their community. The Forward’s English and Yiddish platforms build on a century-old legacy maintained in our archives and lead to a deeper understanding of what it means to be Jewish in the 21st century.
Moment Magazine, founded in 1975 by Elie Wiesel and Leonard Fein, is an award-winning independent magazine dedicated to exploring the richness and tumult of Jewish thought. Rooted in the enduring power of print and expanded through digital media, live programs, and cultural initiatives, Moment covers the diversity of the Jewish experience today.
